Congregation B’nai Torah Renovation & Addition, Sandy Springs, Georgia

With the initial phase of construction completed in 1985 to serve a small community of 300 families, growth of the Congregation to over 700 families demanded a renewal to worn existing areas and significant expansion of others to meet the religious and programmatic needs of the members.  Through an expansive outreach process which solicited thoughts, opinions and desires regarding both spatial requirements and aesthetic content, a design emerged which, through a highly pragmatic approach to the construction budget, renovated the existing Sanctuary and Common Areas; provided a Second Social Hall doubling its venue capacity; significantly increased the size of the Chapel; re-evaluated the operation of the Administrative Area; and upgraded the Pre-School Wing per the criteria for state accreditation.  All told, the campus has been increased to 31,500 sq. ft. and provides a variety of both dedicated and multi-use spaces capable of serving this religiously diverse community.
